Our 6th class pupils took part in an exciting and challenging VEX IQ Robotics competition held at ATU Galway. This was the school’s third year of participating in this competition.

Over the course of several weeks, the students worked as a team to plan, design, build, and code their very own robot. Using the VEX IQ platform, the team developed important STEM skills and had great fun while doing it.

From the first sketches of their robot’s design to the final coding tweaks before the competition, the pupils showed brilliant teamwork, creativity and problem-solving. They learned how to use motors, smart technology and programming blocks to make their robot move, lift and complete tasks based on this year’s game ‘Rapid Relay’.

At the competition in ATU Galway, the team represented St. Vincent’s NS with pride. They competed with schools from all over the region in driving challenges, coding missions, and teamwork tasks. Our pupils impressed judges with their enthusiasm, knowledge and cooperation.
